At Norameda, we believe that strong financial leadership goes far beyond numbers. We are delighted to welcome Virginija Blažienė as our new Chief Financial Officer. With nearly two decades of experience in finance, business transformation, and strategic leadership, Virginija brings a unique combination of financial expertise, operational insight, and a people-centered approach that will support Norameda’s continued growth and long-term success.
Having worked across diverse organizations and business groups, Virginija has built a career that extends well beyond traditional finance. Her professional journey reflects a deep understanding of business operations, organizational transformation, and strategic decision-making—making her a valuable addition to the Norameda leadership team.
Why Norameda?
For Virginija, joining Norameda was about more than taking on a new role—it was about becoming part of an organization where finance can play a meaningful role in shaping business decisions.
“What attracted me to Norameda was the opportunity to work in a business where the finance function is not limited to control or reporting, but can serve as an active partner in decision-making,” she explains. “I have always believed in viewing an organization as a whole understanding not only the numbers, but also the processes, supply chain, team dynamics, business culture, and long-term goals.”
Equally important was Norameda’s culture of trust.
“Trust-based partnerships, both within an organization and with external partners, are among the values I appreciate most. They create an environment where open dialogue, mature decision-making, and sustainable long-term results can thrive.”
Virginija sees Norameda as a company where financial expertise can contribute significantly to sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and better data-driven decision-making.
Bringing Broad Business Experience
Virginija joins Norameda with approximately 20 years of professional experience gained across organizations of varying size and complexity. Throughout her career, she has worked with diverse teams, complex structures, and a broad spectrum of responsibilities.
Her expertise includes financial strategy development, budgeting, financial performance analysis, cost control, cash flow management, risk management, and collaboration with auditors, banks, insurance providers, and other business partners.
However, her experience extends far beyond finance.
She has successfully led and contributed to strategic initiatives involving operational efficiency improvements, KPI framework development, organizational restructuring, IT transformation, and process optimization. Her portfolio includes projects such as inventory management system development, IT management model transformation, warehouse organizational redesign, ERP and PIM implementation, Power BI integration, and the creation of accounts receivable control systems.
“Numbers show the outcome,” Virginija says. “But if you want to influence that outcome, you need to understand what is happening across the entire value chain.”
A Balanced Approach to Finance and Leadership
While finance is often viewed as a discipline driven by data, models, and measurable indicators, Virginija believes successful financial management requires a broader perspective.
“Finance is undoubtedly a science of numbers, but every business has its own nuances, history, culture, and decision-making practices. That is why my approach is based on balance,” she explains.
On one hand, she strongly supports financial discipline, accountability, and control. On the other, she believes finance must remain flexible enough to respond to evolving business needs.
“A strong finance function should never become a barrier to business. Instead, it should help the organization make better decisions, manage risks effectively, and create long-term value.”
When it comes to leadership, Virginija sees it as an ongoing journey of learning and growth.
“I believe leadership often reveals itself most clearly during challenging situations—when facing uncertainty, crisis, or rapid change. In those moments, it is important to take responsibility, show initiative, make decisions, and ensure those decisions are implemented successfully.”
At the same time, she emphasizes inclusion, empowerment, and trust as essential leadership principles.
“A leader’s responsibility is not only to achieve results but also to create an environment where people understand the purpose, are encouraged to take ownership, and can actively contribute to meaningful change.”
One Word: Consistent
If asked to describe her working style in a single word, Virginija chooses “consistent.”
For her, consistency means avoiding reactive decision-making and instead taking the time to understand the broader context, evaluate available data, assess business impact, and make informed decisions.
“Consistency means maintaining a clear direction, taking responsibility for results, and ensuring that good decisions are not only made but fully implemented,” she says.
In finance, she believes sustainable success comes from disciplined execution, reliable data, strong controls, and clearly defined processes rather than short-term fixes.
Looking Ahead
As she begins her journey at Norameda, Virginija’s priority is to gain a deep understanding of the business, its people, processes, culture, and decision-making practices.
“It is important for me to learn before making assumptions. I want to understand where the finance function can create the greatest value and ensure that any changes are introduced thoughtfully, consistently, and sustainably.”
Another key focus will be building strong, trust-based relationships across the organization.
“A finance function can only be truly effective when it understands the business and is seen as a trusted partner rather than solely a control mechanism.”
In the coming months, Virginija plans to focus on improving efficiency through stronger data quality, more valuable reporting, clearer processes, cost effectiveness, risk oversight, and stronger support for decision making.
What Motivates Her
Virginija describes herself as someone who is strongly driven by intrinsic motivation.
“Work is an important part of my life and a meaningful form of self-fulfilment. What motivates me most is seeing tangible results—knowing that my contribution or the efforts of the team have helped the business grow, strengthen processes, solve challenges, or make better decisions.”
She is equally inspired by engaged teams and strong professional relationships.
“When people understand the purpose behind change and actively contribute to achieving it, it creates tremendous energy. A trust-based culture is most motivating because it comes with responsibility and encourages us to deliver our very best.”
A Message to the Norameda Team and Partners
As she joins Norameda, Virginija shares a message cantered on collaboration, openness, and mutual respect.
“I am truly excited to become part of the Norameda team and grateful for the trust placed in me. I join with the intention to listen, learn, and contribute wherever my experience can help strengthen the organization’s growth, efficiency, and decision-making quality.”
To colleagues, she emphasizes the importance of constructive partnership.
“I believe in open, respectful, and solution-oriented collaboration. Understanding the needs of different functions and working together toward common goals is essential for long-term success.”
To business partners, her message is equally clear.
“In finance, I value transparency, accountability, reliability, and long-term relationships. Strong partnerships are one of the foundations of stable and sustainable business growth.”
Beyond Finance
Outside the professional world, Virginija’s greatest source of inspiration is her family.
“Family helps me maintain balance, reminds me of what truly matters, and provides a strong foundation for both personal and professional growth.”
She also finds inspiration in books, travel, and her garden at home.
“Books broaden perspectives, travel introduces new cultures and ways of thinking, and gardening reminds me that meaningful results often come through patience, consistency, and care. It is a principle that applies just as much to business as it does to life.”
As Virginija Blažienė begins this new chapter with Norameda, we are excited to welcome a leader whose combination of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and commitment to people will help drive sustainable success for years to come. We look forward to the experience, perspective, and energy she brings to our organization and wish her every success in her new role.
